will have the Archbishop Mosengwo
Pasinya in Raleigh to speak about the
social, economical and political crisis in the
Democratic Republic of Congo.
"The Most Reverend Mgr Laurent
Monsengwo Pasinya was born on 7
October 1939 in the Congo town of
Mongobele. In 1963 he was ordained priest
for the diocese of Inongo, whose Auxiliary
Bishop he became in 1980. In 1988 he was
appointed Archbishop of Kisangani, where
he resides today. He is a member of the
Synod of Bishops, both the X Ordinary
Council of the General Secretariat and the
Special Council for Africa of the General
Secretariat; he is also a Consultor to the
Congregation for the Evangelisation of the
Peoples and the Pontifical Council for
